Astronomy for Mothers: An Opportunity for Learning and Connection
In this talk, I will discuss an astronomy outreach project focused on mothers. I will explain why we decided to focus on this audience and how the project has progressed over the years.
Patricia Lara Cruz, a physicist, graduated from the Faculty of Sciences at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Mexico. She completed her master's degree in Astronomy at the Institute of Astronomy of the same institution. Her primary research focus has been on the dynamics of planetary bodies in the solar system and exoplanets. She has contributed to publications in both scientific and popular science journals. During the pandemic, she initiated a small science communication project aimed at mothers, titled "Astrophysicist Mom." Currently, she is nearing the completion of her doctoral project, where she explores the TitiusBode relation and its connection to the stability of extrasolar systems.
