Hélène Cardona - the recipient of over 20 honors & awards, including a Hemingway

Grant and the Independent Press and International Book Awards - authored 3 collections,

most recently Life in Suspension and Dreaming My Animal Selves, and 6 translations

including Birnam Wood (José Manuel Cardona), Beyond Elsewhere (Gabriel ArnouLaujeac), Ce que nous portons (Dorianne Laux), Walt Whitman’s Civil War Writings

(Iowa University), and The Abduction (Maram Al-Masri). Her work has been translated

into 16 languages. She holds a Masters in American Literature from the Sorbonne and

taught at Hamilton College and LMU
