Greek and Latin| Reception Studies|Gender|Translation
Maria Kakavas is Visiting Assistant Professor at the Department of Classical Studies, Boston College, where she teaches Greek and Latin and a wide range of interdisciplinary courses at the intersections of gender, race and translation. At Boston College she also offers her services as an academic advisor and student mentor. Besides her research, teaching and mentoring, Professor Kakavas is also an associate editor of The Journal of Civic Media, published by the Engagement Lab, Emerson College. As a Citizen TALES Commons member, she enthusiastically shares its core mission to build equitable futures and is currently working on an English translation project of the political plays of the Greek playwright Yiorgos Maniotis.
